About the Aussie Athlete Fund

The Aussie Athlete Fund is dedicated to building a sustainable future for Australian sport. Its mission is clear: to ensure that the next generation of athletes can represent Australia with pride—without facing financial hardship during or after their sporting careers.

Founded by five-time Olympian Nat Cook OAM OLY, the Fund takes an innovative approach by equipping athletes and their families with the tools to raise their own funds, while also connecting them with individuals and businesses for one-off or ongoing support.

Currently, nearly half of Australia’s elite athletes live below the poverty line (ASF, 2023). Many are forced to abandon their aspirations due to the rising costs of training, coaching, travel, and competition—particularly those from regional, rural, and Indigenous communities.

The Aussie Athlete Fund provides direct, targeted support to help athletes stay on their path to excellence—and thrive long after their sporting careers end.
